System Requirements

Operating system:

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS¹, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS²

CPU:

While a 7th-generation i7 x86 desktop processor is usable to build and run ArmarX, having a more recent desktop or mobile processor is recommended.

RAM:

For a typical comprehensive setup, it is recommended to have 32GB or 64GB of RAM available. These are mainly needed during compilation. The runtime requirements are lower.

Installation on specific devices with different characteristics, like a NVIDIA Jetson with its ARM CPU, is doable, but less easy.

Download and Setup

It is strongly recommended to use Axii, the ArmarX Integrated Installer. For this, refer to the installation tutorial.

Alternatively, you can directly follow the instructions of the top-level README file in the Axii repository.
